What Sets Us Apart Is Our Career Benchmark Focus
Most people think about their house as their largest investment and unfortunately, think about the cost of education as a price of doing business. Even worse most people have huge debts associated with both assets. This reality is a drain on the economy and most importantly an emotional drain on people’s happiness.
Benchmarking a career is part of the answer. Knowing how an industry is performing is an important metrics for setting the expectations for a career and managing to increase your own franchise value. How is the company you work for doing relative to the industry that it is competing against? If you are expecting a raise and the industry is doing poorly how realistic is that expectation? Economic cycles and industry trends have an affect on people’s career goals.
What other asset does a person have that will generate more cash flow? So often in the investment world we talk about dividend stability and or growth as a meaningful factor for equity performance. Arguably, looking at someone’s past and or future earnings stream should be similar. As an example, we developed a proprietary index that is focused on the restaurant industry.

Although the investment process is holistic and inclusive portfolios are managed on a discretionary basis. Access wants investors to be educated and informed in the decision making process. There is no definitive recipe for portfolio management, but philosophically it is important that clients know the ingredients to the decision making process in the same way that they know how they are tracking with their plan.
Retirement is generally earned the old fashion way, but along the way hard work should be invested in tax deferred structures so returns compound most efficiently. There are many different retirement programs and choosing the best structure for the client is critical, ie. IRA, 401(k), Roth IRA, KEOGH. Integrating these programs correctly to maximize tax advantages for a plan and potentially for a business is critical, but first people need to know their options.
Long Range Planning
Life is dynamic and we believe that long range plans should not be treated as static objectives. Certainly sound estate planning is the end goal, sound long range planning involves balancing the needs and objectives of funding family education, weddings and even vacations. Planning for college can involve funding 529 plans, but this can be a complicated choice depending on the state you live in. There are various types of insurance programs that we provide our clients, i.e. Term, Permanent and Long Term care. Planning for life’s surprises has its challenges and we want to be a part of the solution.
